What to Expect

Have you scheduled your initial consultation and wondering what you can expect at your first visit? We have some helpful information to make your first visit a success!

At your first visit, we’ll take digital diagnostic photographs and our orthodontist will thoroughly examine your teeth and jaws which will allow us to determine if treatment is necessary.

This important visit will address your orthodontic needs and you’ll receive helpful information regarding timing and length of treatment as well as cost breakdown and payment options if treatment is deemed necessary.

What to Bring

Please bring the following information with you to your first visit:

  • Any X-Rays (if you have any from your dentist)
  • A list of medications you’re currently taking
  • Medical and dental insurance information
  • Completed patient registration forms. Find them online!

Please let us know if you have a medical condition that may be of concern such as diabetes. high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc or if you are on any medications like heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.

What We'll Do Together

  1. Meet our doctor & team
  2. Take digital records including X-rays
  3. Receive a thorough exam by an orthodontist
  4. Discuss treatment options
  5. Watch the estimated length of treatment presented
  6. Discuss financial options with our treatment coordinator
  7. For your convenience, since you are already here, sometimes we can start treatment right then and there!

Diagnostic Records & Treatment Planning

If treatment is necessary, you will be scheduled to start treatment as long as no other dental treatment is needed. We’ll take orthodontic records to confirm the proposed treatment plan we discussed during your initial exam.

These consist of digital study models and digital orthodontic X-Rays. All records are taken at our office for your convenience!

Follow-Up Visits

Follow up visits are an important part of your orthodontic treatment. With our self-ligating braces technology, we are able to minimize the number of visits to our office for treatment because they require far fewer wire adjustments than ordinary braces.

That means you’ll miss less school and work! Generally, we will want to see you every 8 to 12 weeks to check your progress and make adjustments. Make sure you keep these scheduled appointments, follow instructions, eat healthy foods and practice great oral hygiene.

Of course, you’ll also need to continue seeing your dentist regularly.
